Aim and Scope

The Bangladesh Journal of Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases (BJGLD) is the official peer-reviewed, biannual publication of the Bangladesh Gastroenterology Society.  It publishes two issues on January and June of each year. The journal upholds the Society’s mission to advance digestive and liver health through excellence in education and research.

Aims:

  • To provide a premier national platform for disseminating high-quality clinical and scientific research in gastroenterology and hepatology.
  • To foster academic exchange and collaboration among healthcare professionals in Bangladesh and the region.
  • To contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders.
  • To support the educational goals of the Bangladesh Gastroenterology Society by publishing work that guides clinical practice and informs health policy.

Scope:
The journal welcomes submissions reporting original research that contributes significantly to the field. This includes, but is not limited to, clinical studies, epidemiology, pathophysiology, and related molecular genetics concerning:

  • Gastroenterology: Disorders of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, and pancreas.
  • Hepatology: All aspects of acute and chronic liver disease, including viral hepatitis, metabolic liver diseases, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
  • Endoscopy: Innovations and outcomes in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
  • Nutrition and Digestive Health.
